Import your data for a quick start

   Only Administrators can use this feature.

Time IQ Can Help Get You Started, Faster.

We want you to be able to hit the ground running, so we have a quick import template you can download and fill with exported data from your accounting or project management platform.

You can import:

You only need to fill out the sections you want to import–nothing is mandatory.

Importing Your Data

  1. Click on the import button on the People Page, the Projects Page, or the Services Page in your Time IQ account.
  2. Click “Continue”
  3. Select the file you want to import and click “Start Import Process”
  4. Review the records that are going to be inserted and click “Complete & Import”
  5. Click “Done”

Import Template Details

There are two import formats available — Excel and CSV. The Excel file has multiple tabs (one for each type of data) while the CSV file has multiple files (one for each type of data).

You can import People by providing the following data:

  • First and last name
  • Email address (Account activation emails will be sent to this address)
  • User Level (Admin, Manager, or Standard)

People Without Email
If your employees do not have email addresses, Time IQ will assign them a username to log in with. In order to do this, you must provide an initial password for your these people. For people without email, the following data is required:

  • First and last name
  • Password

You can import as many clients and projects to Time IQ as you like. For each project imported, you must include:

  • Client name
  • Project name
  • Billable (1 if the project is billable, 0 if it is not)

Service Tracking is an optional feature of Time IQ. If you plan to use Service Tracking, we can also import your services for you to save you some time. For each service you want to import you must provide:

  • Service category name
  • Service name
  • Billable (1 if the project is billable, 0 if it is not)
